2011 Recap.

2011 was a pretty monumental year for me, one that I’ll never forget. I got married to my beautiful wife, moved back from Vancouver to Toronto, lived in three homes in one year and drove across this incredible country. In hindsight it’s probably been one of the most monumental years in my life to date.

Going forward my wife and I are starting off the new year with more changes. We’ve just got the keys to our new place in downtown Toronto which will be our first Toronto home together and we’re both really stoked on that. The coming year also holds a lot more excitement, New York, the UK and London, Paris, the cottage and lots more.

I’ve always loved starting a new year because you get to look back and reflect on the goods and the bad’s of the past year while looking forward with excitement to the coming year. It should be a good one.

I wish all of you a great, healthy year and look forward to seeing how it all unfolds.

Toronto Tempo

I just came across this video while perusing Vimeo on a lazy Sunday morning and had to share. The video, shot by Ryan Emond is a spectacular time laps view of downtown Toronto shot during September and October of this year. The way he captures the energy and “tempo” of the city is incredible. It’s such a great video, well worth a watch.

Big City, Bright Lights

Today I got hired to come down to the Eaton Centre and do a little photo shoot. I had a break in the middle so I took a wonder around and got some of these shots that I’m quite happy with that I shot with mu iPhone. The first one looks hyper real to me, I love it.

Toronto Blue Jays Get a New Logo – Poll

The Toronto Blue Jays got a new logo today and I rather like it. I still prefer the classic logo but I feel that this is a better evolution than other logos they’ve had and is more inline with what I think of when I think of the Blue Jays. I have to admit I’m not overly fond of the font but all in all I like it. I’m curious to see how it will be received or if the classic logo will continue to be the top seller. What do you think of it?

UPDATE: The logo has continued to grow on me so much so that I was super stoked to get a baseball for Christmas. It’s a great logo, I just needed a bit of time to get used to it.

The Return of the Realms. Season 5

The first episode of The Snowboard Realms each year is synonymous with the start of the season and always gets me stoked to get out and ride. Last year was a bit of an odd year for the Realms as most of the great footage had to be held for the Capita film Defenders of Awesome which was completely worth it but it’s nice to see episode 1 of Season 5 is back in full effect. Tj Schneider never disappoints always keeping it fun, light and bangin. As always I’m looking forward to the rest of the Realms season and getting out myself of course.

Leica Portrait: Jonathan Mannion

Leica sat down with one of the most, if not the most, prolific photographer in Hip Hop and pop culture. Jonathan Mannion has shot some of the most memorable images in Hip Hop from the best artists in the business including Jay-Z, Eminem, Drake and a ton of others for the past 15+ years. His body of work is mind blowing.

While I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years I only came to learn about Jonathan Mannion two years ago when Maestro Knows did a video with him and I’ve been keeping an ear to the ground on him ever since. It’s a great video, well worth a watch. Check it and enjoy!

Rapha Continental Vancouver BC

The Rapha Continental series of videos have been nothing short of incredible. This one in particular I especially enjoyed as it takes place in my old stomping ground of Vancouver. It was great to see them rolling on some of the rides I used to do although, I never attempted the Triple Crown, that’s just crazy, well, for me anyway. To top it off, they got great weather too (a rarity in Vancouver). It’s an amazing video that brings back lots of great memories.

The second video below is of the RBC GranFondo ride on the Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver to Whistler, one of the most beautiful, scenic highways in Canada.

New iPhone Wallpaper
