A Longstanding Father/Son Tradition: Toronto International Autoshow

Let me start by saying, it’s great to be back. It has been a long standing tradition for my dad and I to venture off every February to walk the expansive floors of the Metro Toronto Convention Center for the Toronto International Autoshow. About four and a half years ago I picked up and moved to Vancouver and our father/son autoshow adventures got put on hiatus. Every February while I was gone I’d wish I could fly back to uphold the tradition but due to the outrageous costs of flying within Canada that just couldn’t happen.
This past summer when my wife and I decided to make the big move back it was one of the first things that came to mind… Dad and I could hit up the autoshow again. It’s an event I look forward to every year and have done for years.
I believe the first year we went to the show was way back in 1988 and for the most part we have been going every year ever since, minus my four years away. Its always been a chance for just the two of us to hang out, take a few hours to check out all the latest and greatest that the automotive world has to offer and drool over some of the exotics that we could only dream of. Well this year was no exception, today we went to have a look around, snap some photos take it all in. It was a great day out, was nice to continue on the tradition and I look forward to many more in the future.

Here are some of my favorites from the show.

The VW Bully is still just a concept but man I hope they build it. It got me the most excited of the show by far.

Audi’s A4 Allroad was my second favorite car of the show. It would be in serious contention if my wife and I decided to get a new car… this or the VW Bulli if they make it.

Dad taking a break to rest his legs… I needed a rest too, it’s a huge show.

Can’t wait for next year although next year we’ve said we’re going mid week, mid day. It was crazy busy there today but a ton of fun nonetheless.
